Description

Fried Apple Pies are a delightful treat filled with cinnamon-spiced apples and encased in a crispy golden crust, perfect for family gatherings or a cozy night at home.


Ingredients

  • 2 cups apples, peeled and diced
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 package of pie crusts (or homemade)
  • Oil for frying

Instructions

  1. Begin by preparing your filling. In a bowl, combine diced apples, sugar, cinnamon, and lemon juice. Mix well to ensure that all the apples are coated with the sweet and tangy mixture.
  2. Roll out the pie crusts on a floured surface. Using a round cutter, cut the dough into circles, about 4 inches in diameter.
  3. Place a generous spoonful of the prepared apple mixture onto one half of each dough circle. Be careful not to overfill, as this can make sealing difficult.
  4. Fold the crust over the filling to create a half-moon shape. Press the edges firmly to seal, using a fork to crimp if desired.
  5. Heat oil in a deep fryer or large pan to 350°F (175°C). It’s important to check that the oil is adequately heated before adding the pies.
  6. Carefully place the pies in the hot oil. Fry until golden brown, about 2-3 minutes on each side.
