- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 medium zucchini, sliced
- 1 cup pepperoni slices
- 1 cup marinara sauce
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Olive oil for cooking
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a baking dish with olive oil.
- In a skillet over medium heat, add the ground beef. Cook until browned, seasoning with salt, pepper, and Italian seasoning.
- Spread the sliced zucchini at the bottom of the greased baking dish.
- Next, layer the cooked ground beef atop the zucchini, then pour the marinara sauce over the beef.
- Cover with pepperoni slices evenly across.
- Sprinkle the shredded mozzarella and grated Parmesan cheese on top.
- Place the baking dish in the preheated oven and bake for about 25-30 minutes.
- Remove the casserole from the oven, let it cool slightly before serving.
Notes
For added flavor, sauté onions or garlic with the beef. You can substitute turkey or chicken for a leaner option.
