Description

These tender walnut snowball cookies melt in your mouth with a buttery, lightly sweet flavor, perfect for holidays or a cozy afternoon.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup chopped walnuts
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • Additional powdered sugar for dusting

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Cream together the softened butter and 1/2 cup powdered sugar until light and fluffy, then stir in the vanilla.
  3. Gradually add the flour and salt, mixing until a soft dough forms, then fold in the chopped walnuts.
  4. Shape the dough into small balls about 1 inch in diameter and place them on the prepared baking sheet, spacing them apart.
  5. Bake for 15–20 minutes, until the bottoms are just slightly golden.
  6. Remove from the oven and cool slightly before rolling in powdered sugar while still warm.

Notes

Roll cookies in powdered sugar again after cooling for a thicker coating.
