Description

A creamy and colorful dip with fresh tomatoes, basil, and garlic over a smooth cream cheese base, perfect for gatherings.


Ingredients

  • 1 cup diced tomatoes
  • 1/4 cup diced red onion
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh basil
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon balsamic vinegar
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • Crackers or toasted bread for serving

Instructions

  1. Combine diced tomatoes, red onion, basil, garlic, balsamic vinegar, salt, and pepper in a medium bowl. Mix gently and set aside.
  2. Beat softened cream cheese in another bowl until smooth and spreadable.
  3. Spread the cream cheese mixture evenly on the bottom of a serving dish.
  4. Pour the tomato mixture over the cream cheese layer and sprinkle the shredded mozzarella cheese on top.
  5. Broil for 30–60 seconds if you want the mozzarella slightly melted.
  6. Serve the dip with crackers or toasted bread.

Notes

For best texture, store the cream cheese base and tomato topping separately for up to 3 days, then assemble before serving. Use firm tomatoes for better flavor and prevent excess liquid.
