Description

A quick and fresh treat featuring ripe strawberries, fluffy cream, and tender shortcake, perfect for summer parties or weeknight desserts.


Ingredients

  • 1 pound fresh strawberries, hulled and sliced
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 2 tablespoons powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 package store-bought shortcake cups or sponge cake
  • Mint leaves for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Combine the sliced strawberries and sugar in a bowl. Stir gently to coat, then let them sit for about 15 minutes to macerate.
  2. Pour the heavy cream into another chilled bowl, add powdered sugar and vanilla extract. Whip until soft peaks form.
  3. Break or cut the shortcake into bite-sized pieces that fit in your dessert cups.
  4. Layer the pieces of shortcake, macerated strawberries with their juices, and whipped cream in dessert cups.
