Instructions
- Combine the sliced strawberries and sugar in a bowl. Stir gently to coat, then let them sit for about 15 minutes to macerate.
- Pour the heavy cream into another chilled bowl, add powdered sugar and vanilla extract. Whip until soft peaks form.
- Break or cut the shortcake into bite-sized pieces that fit in your dessert cups.
- Layer the pieces of shortcake, macerated strawberries with their juices, and whipped cream in dessert cups.
