Description
A quick, bold-tasting dish that balances heat, salt, and sweetness with creamy whipped feta and savory sausage.
Ingredients
- Flatbreads
- Spicy sausage (cooked and sliced)
- Honey
- Feta cheese
- Cream cheese
- Olive oil
- Red pepper flakes
- Fresh herbs (like parsley or basil), for garnish
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C). Gather all ingredients. If your sausage is not cooked, cook it first in a skillet until fully done, then slice. Let cheeses come close to room temperature for easier blending. Place flatbreads on a baking sheet.
- Combine feta cheese and cream cheese in a bowl. Use a hand mixer or food processor and blend until smooth and fluffy. Taste and add a pinch of black pepper if desired. Spread the whipped feta mixture evenly over each flatbread with a spatula.
- Top each flatbread with sliced spicy sausage. Drizzle honey over the top and sprinkle with red pepper flakes to taste. Bake in the oven for about 10–12 minutes or until the edges are golden and crispy and the toppings feel hot.
- Remove flatbreads from the oven. Drizzle lightly with olive oil and scatter fresh herbs over the top. Let sit 1–2 minutes so flavors settle, then slice and serve warm.
Notes
Serve right from the oven for the best texture. Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 2–3 days.
