Description

These soft, cake-like bars feature a sweet maple flavor and a glossy glaze, perfect for breakfast or dessert.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 3/4 cup maple syrup
  • 1 cup powdered sugar (for glaze)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13 inch baking dish.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, whisk melted butter, buttermilk, eggs, vanilla extract, and maple syrup until smooth.
  4. Pour wet ingredients into dry ingredients and stir gently until just combined. Pour the batter into the prepared baking dish and spread it evenly.
  5. Bake for 20–25 minutes until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean and top is lightly golden. Let cool for a few minutes.
  6. Mix powdered sugar with maple syrup until smooth. Drizzle over warm bars, let set, slice, and serve.

Notes

For added flavors, consider variations like Maple Pecan or Maple Cinnamon Swirl. Store in an airtight container for freshness.
