Description

A delightful dish combining the familiar flavors of stuffed cabbage rolls without the fuss of rolling. Perfect for satisfying cravings while keeping carb intake low.


Ingredients

  • 1 large head of cabbage, chopped
  • 1 medium onion, diced
  • 1 pound ground beef or sausage
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 can diced tomatoes
  • 1 cup tomato sauce
  • 2 tablespoons Italian seasoning
  • Salt, to taste
  • Pepper, to taste
  • Shredded cheese, for topping (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Chop the cabbage and dice the onion.
  2. In a large skillet, cook the ground meat over medium heat until browned, about 5-7 minutes. Drain excess fat.
  3. Add the diced onion and minced garlic, sautéing until fragrant, about 2-3 minutes.
  4. Stir in the chopped cabbage and cook until tender, about 5-7 minutes.
  5. Add the diced tomatoes, tomato sauce, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Mix well.
  6. Transfer to a greased casserole dish. Top with shredded cheese if desired.
  7. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until heated through and cheese is melted and bubbly.
  8. Allow to cool slightly before serving warm.

Notes

Great as leftovers; store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3-4 days. Can be frozen for up to 2 months.
