Description
A simple weeknight side that turns crisp-tender green beans into a savory, cheesy crowd-pleaser.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 pound fresh green beans
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C). Trim the ends off the green beans and place them in a large bowl. Dry beans roast better, so pat them if they feel wet.
- Drizzle the olive oil over the beans. Sprinkle the garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Toss with your hands or a spoon until the beans are evenly coated.
- Spread the beans in a single layer on a baking sheet. Bake in the preheated oven for 10 minutes to blister and begin to soften.
- Remove the sheet from the oven and evenly sprinkle the grated Parmesan over the beans. Return to the oven and bake another 5–10 minutes, until the beans are tender and the cheese is golden and crisp. Serve warm.
Notes
Dry the beans well to ensure they roast properly. Rotate the pan halfway through baking for even color.
