Description

These warm, soft Olive Garden–style breadsticks are buttery, garlicky, and perfect for dipping, featuring a light chew and a golden crust.


Ingredients

  • 2 teaspoons active dry yeast
  • 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • 1 cup warm water
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter (melted)
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 tablespoon parsley (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a small bowl, dissolve the yeast and sugar in warm water. Let it sit for about 5 minutes until frothy.
  2. In a large bowl, combine flour and salt. Make a well in the center and add the yeast mixture and olive oil. Mix until a dough forms.
  3. Turn the dough out onto a lightly floured surface and knead for 5–7 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  4. Place the dough in an oiled bowl, cover, and let it rise in a warm place until doubled in size (about 1 hour).
  5. Punch down the dough and roll it into long sticks about 6 inches long. Place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Allow the breadsticks to rise again for about 30 minutes.
  6. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) while the dough finishes its second rise. Bake in the preheated oven for 12–15 minutes until golden brown.
  7. Brush the hot breadsticks with melted butter mixed with garlic powder and parsley before serving.

Notes

Serve warm with marinara sauce, alfredo, or garlic-herbed olive oil for dipping. For the best texture and aroma, serve immediately.
