Description

These Mini French Toast Bites are small, golden, and perfect for a quick breakfast or a party snack, with flavors of warm vanilla and cinnamon.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 slices of bread
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • Butter for frying
  • Maple syrup for serving

Instructions

  1. Cut each slice of bread into quarters to create bite-sized pieces. Place the pieces on a plate and set aside.
  2. In a bowl, whisk together the 2 large eggs, 1/2 cup milk, 1 teaspoon vanilla extract, and 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon until smooth and slightly frothy.
  3. Heat a skillet over medium heat and add a knob of butter. Dip each piece of bread into the egg mixture, allowing it to soak for a few seconds. Fry the soaked bread pieces in the skillet in a single layer until golden brown on the bottom, then flip and brown the other side, about 2-3 minutes per side.
  4. Remove the bites from the skillet and drain briefly on paper towel if desired. Serve warm with maple syrup and any toppings you like.

Notes

Use slightly stale bread for better absorption of the egg mixture. To keep bites warm for a group, place them in a 200°F (90°C) oven.
