Description
A delightful dessert that combines the tartness of lemon with a comforting cobbler texture, ideal for family gatherings and picnics.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 cup milk
- 1 cup self-rising flour
- 1/2 cup melted butter
- 1 cup lemon juice
- 1 tablespoon lemon zest
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Gather all your ingredients so you have everything ready to go.
- In a mixing bowl, combine the sugar, milk, self-rising flour, and melted butter. Stir the mixture until all the ingredients are well blended and smooth.
- Pour the batter into a greased baking dish. In a separate bowl, mix the lemon juice, lemon zest, and salt together. Carefully pour this lemon mixture over the batter in the baking dish, but do not stir it in—this gives the cobbler its magical layered effect!
- Bake for 35-40 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and bubbly. Once baked, let it cool slightly before serving to allow the flavors to set.
Notes
Serve warm or at room temperature with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream. Can be stored in the refrigerator for 3-4 days or frozen for up to 2 months.
