These homemade dog pancakes are a simple, wholesome treat your pup will love. Made with peanut butter and banana, they’re safe for most dogs and perfect for special breakfasts or training rewards.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 cup whole wheat flour
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- 1 cup milk (whole or low-fat)
- 1 large egg
- 2 tablespoons peanut butter (no xylitol, natural if possible)
- 1 ripe banana (mashed)
Instructions
- In a bowl, mix the whole wheat flour and baking powder together. Stir briefly to combine and break up any lumps.
- In another bowl, whisk together the milk, egg, peanut butter, and mashed banana until smooth.
- Combine the wet and dry ingredients and mix until just combined; let sit for 1–2 minutes.
- Heat a non-stick skillet over medium heat and pour in batter to form small pancakes (about 2–3 inches wide).
- Cook until bubbles form on the surface (about 2–3 minutes), then flip and cook until golden brown (another 1–2 minutes).
- Let cool before serving to your dog.
Notes
Use natural peanut butter without xylitol. Adjust heat as needed to prevent burning. Always serve in moderation based on your dog’s size and dietary needs.
