Description
A quick weeknight dinner that balances rich salmon with a tangy-sweet blackberry balsamic glaze and a gentle spicy kick.
Ingredients
Scale
- 4 salmon fillets
- 1 cup blackberries (fresh or frozen)
- 1/2 cup balsamic vinegar
- 2 tablespoons honey
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce
- 1 teaspoon red pepper flakes
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Olive oil for cooking
Instructions
- Season both sides of the salmon fillets lightly with salt and pepper. Pat them dry with paper towels.
- Combine the blackberries, balsamic vinegar, honey, soy sauce, and red pepper flakes in a small saucepan.
- Heat the mixture over medium heat until it simmers, then press down on the blackberries.
- Reduce the heat to low and cook for about 10 minutes, stirring occasionally, until thickened.
- Heat a skillet over medium-high heat and add olive oil. Cook the salmon fillets for 4-5 minutes per side.
- Brush the glaze onto the salmon and let it caramelize slightly in the pan.
- Serve warm with additional sauce and garnish as desired.
Notes
For a smoother glaze, strain the mixture after reducing. Adjust red pepper flakes to control heat level.
