- 3 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 packet (2 1/4 tsp) instant yeast
- 1 tsp sugar
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 cup warm water
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1 tbsp Italian seasoning
- 1 tsp garlic powder
Instructions
- Combine 1 cup warm water, 1 tsp sugar, and 1 packet (2 1/4 tsp) instant yeast; let sit for 5 minutes until frothy.
- Add 3 cups all-purpose flour, 1 tsp salt, 2 tbsp olive oil, 1 tbsp Italian seasoning, and 1 tsp garlic powder to the yeast mixture; mix until a rough dough forms.
- Knead the dough on a lightly floured surface for about 8-10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
- Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise in a warm place for about 1 hour, or until doubled in size.
- Punch down the dough and gently fold in 1/2 cup grated Parmesan and 1/2 cup shredded mozzarella.
- Shape the dough into a loaf and place it in a greased loaf pan; let rise again for 30 minutes.
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) and bake for 25-30 minutes until golden brown.
- Let the bread cool for 15-20 minutes before slicing and serving.
Notes
This bread pairs well with deli meats, soups, and can be used as garlic toast.
