Description

A comforting, high-protein meal featuring tender chicken with marinara, cottage cheese, and melted mozzarella. Perfect for weeknight dinners.


Ingredients

  • 2 chicken breasts
  • 1 cup cottage cheese
  • 1 cup marinara sauce
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Olive oil for cooking
  • Cooked pasta or rice (for serving)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C). Pat the chicken dry and season with garlic powder, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper.
  2. Pour a thin layer of marinara sauce into the baking dish. Set the remaining sauce aside.
  3. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add the chicken and sear for about 5–7 minutes per side until golden brown. Transfer to the baking dish.
  4. Spread cottage cheese over the chicken, then spoon the remaining marinara on top. Sprinkle with mozzarella and Parmesan.
  5. Bake for 20–25 minutes until the chicken reaches 165°F (75°C) and the cheese is bubbly. Let it rest for 3–5 minutes before serving.

Notes

For a lighter dish, serve over zoodles or steamed vegetables. Add fresh herbs for garnish.
