- 2 chicken breasts
- 1 cup cottage cheese
- 1 cup marinara sauce
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Olive oil for cooking
- Cooked pasta or rice (for serving)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C). Pat the chicken dry and season with garlic powder, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper.
- Pour a thin layer of marinara sauce into the baking dish. Set the remaining sauce aside.
- Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add the chicken and sear for about 5–7 minutes per side until golden brown. Transfer to the baking dish.
- Spread cottage cheese over the chicken, then spoon the remaining marinara on top. Sprinkle with mozzarella and Parmesan.
- Bake for 20–25 minutes until the chicken reaches 165°F (75°C) and the cheese is bubbly. Let it rest for 3–5 minutes before serving.
Notes
For a lighter dish, serve over zoodles or steamed vegetables. Add fresh herbs for garnish.
