Description
A comforting dish that combines the classic flavors of cheeseburgers with pasta for a hearty and delicious meal.
Ingredients
Scale
- 8 ounces pasta (like penne or rotini)
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 onion, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup beef broth
- 1 can (15 ounces) diced tomatoes
- 1 tablespoon ketchup
- 1 tablespoon mustard
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Fresh parsley for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Cook the pasta according to the package instructions, ensuring you add plenty of salt to the boiling water for flavor. Once cooked, drain the pasta and set it aside.
- In a large skillet over medium heat, add the ground beef. Cook it until browned and no longer pink, breaking it apart with a spatula as it cooks, about 5-7 minutes.
- Add the chopped onion and minced garlic to the skillet. Sauté for about 3-4 minutes, until the onions are translucent and fragrant.
- Stir in the beef broth, diced tomatoes (with their juices), ketchup, mustard, and season with salt and pepper to taste. Bring the mixture to a simmer, allowing the flavors to meld, about 5 minutes.
- Add the cooked pasta to the skillet, gently stirring to combine everything well. Allow the pasta to absorb the delicious sauce.
- Sprinkle the shredded cheddar cheese over the top of the pasta. Cover the skillet for a few minutes to let the cheese melt beautifully.
- If desired, garnish with fresh parsley before serving. Serve hot for a comforting meal that tastes just like a cheeseburger!
Notes
For extra flavor, consider adding Worcestershire sauce or using lean ground turkey. Customize with different cheeses or toppings as desired.
