Description

A delicious fusion of classic apple fritters and waffle donuts, crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside, perfect for breakfast or dessert.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 apple, peeled and diced
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Vegetable oil for frying
  • Optional: powdered sugar for dusting

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, salt, cinnamon, and sugar. Mix well.
  2. In another bowl, whisk the eggs, milk, melted butter, and vanilla extract until smooth.
  3. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and mix until just combined. Fold in the diced apple.
  4. Preheat a waffle iron and lightly grease it. Pour in the batter and cook until golden brown.
  5. Heat vegetable oil in a deep pan. Fry each waffle until crispy on both sides and drain on paper towels.
  6. Dust with powdered sugar if desired, then serve warm.

Notes

Serve with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or drizzle with caramel sauce for an extra treat. Best enjoyed fresh but can be stored at room temperature for up to 2 days.
